Edible Lanscapes
According the the United Nations, almost 900 MILLION people in the world are either starving or seriously undernourished. That's almost 1 BILLION people. Now have a play around with Google Maps below and see how much fertile land you can find. Have a really good look around:

With all our land and natural resources, is it reasonable that anyone should be starving?...
Edible landscapes is a program where everyday land is used for food-bearing trees and plants. After all, trees that don't produce food are everywhere, so why not plant some trees that do more good than the usual tree?
A single fruit tree can feed thousands over its lifetime. Imagine what thousands of fruit trees can do. While money doesn't grow on trees, food does, and it's a lot more valuable than paper.
Home-grown vegetables are usually re-planted every season. But imagine planting them in suitable conditions on public land and leaving them for a few years to reproduce naturally. You will have a readily available, renewable and self-expanding food source - just as nature intended.
I think you get my point: with a bit of initiative, nobody needs to starve to death.
The Initiative
To put a global edible landscapes program into action, we must consider:
- WHO are the key decision makers that can make such a program reality
- HOW do we influence them to put such a plan in action, when money and finance is more their focus?
