to my mind our state of conciousness is based upon that which " we know " as we all know different things we are all a different state of conciousness. in order to free ourselves of what we know, we have to know that what we know may not be true. in order to know this we have incidents or happenings in our lives to which lead us to question what we truly do know. these times i believe make us aware that we truly know nothing at all, a frightening experience, at this point our barrier of what we know breaks down and allows the subconcious mind to show us what we can " know " next. this in turn becomes what we know, and ultimatley who we were has changed. i have a great many thoughts about this matter, as im sure do many others.
it is not possible for anyone i believe to change the state of conciousness of another unless they are ready to listen. or unknow what they know. knowing is the door that keeps us focused, and to focus is to look at just one thing, or concentrate if you like. i think most would agree that society these days is focused on survival and trying to be as comfortable as possible, sometimes to unscrupulous ends.
the upside of this is it brings many problems and heartache which in turn makes us question that which we know. slowly but surely through all the suffering and darkness we are moving to enlightenment.
